On the old site we had quite a bit of interest in our links regarding Linux codes, some of the top searched were:
- Reinstalling grub 2 after installing in multiboot
#This would only be necessary if you were installing Windows after installing Linux. To do this boot from cd/dvd/usb installer using Linux Mint, or Ubuntu, then in a terminal run the following codes.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair
Open boot-repair, click Recommended repair to repair grub2 with one click. Click Advanced options for details.
- Adding Google Chrome (For silverlight compatibility)
#This enables Linux to use services on Amazon or Netflix, and is nearly obsolete as codes go. You can actually install the libs without the browser, and I’ll include that code after.
sudo apt-get install libxss1 libappindicator1 libindicator7 wget https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_i386.deb sudo dpkg -i google-chrome*.deb
(64)= sudo dpkg –I google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
Non Chrome Solution:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:leonbo/nss sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install libnss3 libnss3-1d libnss3-nssdb sudo apt-get upgrade
I'll do plenty more of these soon.
