I love mine, but I added Google Playstore pretty much as I took it out of the box because that’s what I do to stuff…
I have a complicated relationship with anything android related because adb push is such a cinch you really should just get good at it. I added chrome because what is a silk browser? And now I play movies on it when I want to sit outside. (Easier to set on a tiny table than my laptop.)
Performance? Awesome – much faster than my old Kindle Fire 7″ and arguably faster than my Samsung tablets from 2016. The only drawback if there is one, is that tiny frogs don’t line up to watch movies as though it were a drive in.
